The Shootist: Review
John Wayne's last film is a moving, dignified and eloquent farewell to a man who superseded mere movie star status and became an icon of American culture. Appropriately, the film is a western. The film traces the career of infamous gunfighter J.B. Books (Wayne) from 1871 to 1901, and costars Lauren Bacall, Ron Howard and James Stewart.
