SCREAM FOR HELP is what the viewer will probably do after seeing this film--not out of abject fear but rather the sheer misery of having to sit through this inane attempt at blending intrigue and terror. Convinced that her stepfather (David Brooks) is trying to murder her mother (Marie

Masters), Christie (Rachel Kelly) sets out on the task of attempting to convince everyone of this dastardly plot. Naturally, no one believes her, even when a series of "accidents" begins to occur that are clearly not happenstance. There's plenty of gore tossed in for show here. It's uncertain

whether the actors knew if the screenplay was supposed to be funny or not; they received either no direction or little direction. It might have come off tongue-in-cheek, but director Michael Winner opts for a heavy musical score. One wonders what effect he was trying to achieve. What might have

been a delicious satire of this genre comes off as just another slash-and-scream movie.
