YELLER, though any kinship between the two films is hard to find. "Savage Sam," the offspring of "Old Yeller," is instrumental in tracking down a group of Apaches who have kidnaped Kirk, Corcoran, and Kristen. Keith heads the posse pursuing the Indians. Little sympathy is shown toward the Indians,

many of whom meet with harsh treatment and violence bestowed on them by the other characters. Direction is well-paced, with ample amounts of action, but the unsympathetic treatment of the characters makes for some ambiguity. High points include Keith's performance and the scenic photography.
