Ressel plays a rich man who plans to get richer by stealing a shipment of US Army gold from a Texas bank. Once the heist is accomplished, Ressel arranges to offer a $5000 reward for the capture of the robbers so that he can avoid sharing the loot. Van Cleef is the stranger who rides into

town, kills the robbers, and then collects the reward. When he learns of Ressel's involvement, he attempts to blackmail the mastermind. Ressel responds by hiring gunslingers to do away with Van Cleef, but they are no match for the stranger. Eventually, Van Cleef kills Ressel and rides off into the

desert. Some wild characterizations and well-handled action sequences make this a fast-moving and entertaining spaghetti western. Sequel: ADIOS, SABATA.
