Depressing highway character drama has Drivas and Bostwick as a pair of independent truckers trying to stay in business despite the economy, the cops, and the conglomerates. They pick up prostitute Baff, who offers herself to the pair in return for a ride to New York. When they cynically

take up her offer then later reject her, she begins to make their lives a living hell, reciting long monologs about how bad her life has been. Inexorably, she drags the unprotesting pair to their destruction. One of the bleakest American pictures of the 1970s, ROAD MOVIE barely got a release

before disappearing into obscure cult status. Excellent performances, particularly by Baff as the beaten and furious hooker clawing at everyone around her. Well worth seeking out, if you don't mind being depressed for a while.
