Quintessential Autry with every one of his famed trademarks firmly in place. He is a shy cowpoke who becomes the heir to a meat-packing plant. Storey is the snotty owner of a rival plant whose executives are determined to put Autry out of business. But Storey has an early run-in with Autry

and comes out looking like the fool she is. To complicate matters, her younger sister (Lee) has a thing for the singing cowboy and undermines her plans. Autry, of course, does not want the precocious youngster but works with her and Burnette to save the business. Oddly enough, he ends up with

Storey. She has obviously come to a change of heart in this silly but highly enjoyable Autry feature. The clever dialog made the story a lot better than it had a right to be, and Autry is a good deal of fun. Audiences apparently agreed, for the film was quite successful at the box office.
