Although shot on film, this sequel to the shot-on-video BLOOD CULT never received a theatrical release and went straight to videocassette. Its confused plot--serving only as filler between the gore sequences--involves a group of dog worshipers, the "Cult of Caninus." Predictably, the

members are all upstanding citizens of their small community, and their leader, Bradford (John Carradine, obviously reading his lines from cue cards), even happens to be a senator. The cult members are, however, set on acquiring a piece of land owned by a poor widow (Bennie Lee McGowan), anxious

to use it as the site for their sacred rites. With the assistance of stranger Michael Hogan (Patrick Wayne), the distraught widow tries to fend off the crazed dog lovers. Simpleminded, mean-spirited, and downright laughable in spots, REVENGE is, in a word, pathetic. The violence is from the

Herschell Gordon Lewis school of gratuitous gore and the filmmakers even stoop so low as intercutting a shot of a woman having her leg amputated with one of her ignorant boy friend cutting up some sausage for breakfast. Detestable.
