Script concerns the efforts of a Hollywood star, Brook, to recapture some of the freedom he had before he started making it big. He joins a small acting company, gets them to make money and attract some interest. But the leading lady of the play decides that she has fallen in love with

Brook, which poses a problem because Brook is married, and she is spoken for by the writer of the group. Brook decides that it's best not to go through with the romance, proving that he really can't recapture those days gone by. A bad recording, unfortunately, makes the English accents barely

intelligible. Stevenson, who directed and co-wrote the script, was a pacifist at the time of this filming and bitterly attacked British filmmakers who were leaving their country in droves for Hollywood.
