Australian filmmaker Jocelyn Moorhouse made an auspicious debut with this dark, dry comedy about a blind photographer (Hugo Weaving) who takes pictures by aiming at sounds or feeling objects with his hands. He's locked in an emotional battle with his obsessed housekeeper (Genevieve Picot), but a whole new factor enters the equation when he befriends a likeable restaurant dishwasher (Russell Crowe).
