Fresh from being terrorized in HALLOWEEN, Jamie Lee Curtis stars in this slasher clone set to the wonderful thump of disco music. The film opens, as does HALLOWEEN, with an expository scene from the past: Taunted by four other kids, a girl falls to her death from an abandoned building.

Approximately eight years later, on the night of the high school prom, a hooded killer stalks and slashes the four teens responsible for the little girl's death. Who could the killer be? Is it the victim's sister, Curtis, who was crowned prom queen? Is it her brother, Michael Tough, who works as

the DJ at the prom? Is it her father, Leslie Nielsen, who just happens to be the school principal? Or is it, perhaps, one of the four culprits trying to kill off the others so no one will ever know what happened that day? The answer is pretty obvious, so you'll just have to enjoy the scenes of

Curtis disco-dancing and wonderful moments such as when the severed head of a victim rolls across the dance floor. PROM NIGHT is better than most slasher movies, mainly because it's funnier. The film was followed by a number of sequels, beginning with HELLO MARY LOU: PROM NIGHT II.
