The routine plot has Elliott taking a temporary job as a teacher at a school for unstable girls. He discovers that headmistress Walker and athletic director Seay are drugging an innocent girl unnecessarily. The two cohorts become suspicious of Elliott, kicking him off the premises. But

Elliott continues his snooping, discovering that they plan on passing the girl off as an oil heiress and collecting the inheritance, the actual heiress having already been murdered. Production values and performances are all adequate. The script offers some interesting characterizations of the

problem girls who attend the school, stunning starlets all. Director Dupont, who had done important cinematic work in his native Germany, went to Hollywood and found disappointment in mid-career. He stopped directing for a time in 1940, becoming an agent during a 10-year directorial hiatus. This

was his second feature following his return to directing, his final stint spent entirely--as here--in films of little merit, however competently done.
