Producer, director and co-writer Viola plays himself in this trashy southern exploitation drama which details the wanderings of a bogus preacher out to grab as much sex and cash as he can. After being run out of town because he tried to bilk the sheriff's daughter, Viola hitches a ride

with old farmer Davis, who brings the stranger home with him. Back at the farm, Davis is shocked to find his daughter, Kristen, engaged in some intense sexual gymnastics with three of the local townsmen. Davis chases the goons off and desperately asks Viola to baptise his daughter. Seeing his

opportunity, Viola replies that he cannot perform the religious rite until the girl has been visited by the "Angel Leroy." It seems that this little-known angel visits young girls in the dead of night and spends a few hours with them. After this occurs, the girl is ready to be baptised. That night

Viola plays the angel Leroy. Later the next day, a guilty Davis confesses to Viola that he runs a still. The understanding preacher suggests that Davis use the profits from his still to fund the building of a new church. Having pulled the ultimate con (access to a farmer's daughter, a brand new

church, free hooch, etc.), Viola settles down and lives high on the hog for a while. Unfortunately the law catches up with the preacherman once again, and he sneaks out of town. Hope springs eternal for Viola, and before the fadeout he is picked up by a sexy redhead in a convertible and rides off

to a sequel, PREACHERMAN MEETS WIDDERWOMAN. This good 'ol boy garbage grossed $5 million in southern drive-ins alone, a pretty good return on a $65,000 investment.
