An extremely low budget mix of soft-core smuttiness and Victorian sci-fi that might be your cup of tea if you like topless women and spaceships that are obviously hanging from strings. The plot is difficult to follow, in part due because the sound quality is sometimes to poor as to make the dialogue incomprehensible, but this much is certain: The action takes place in a parallel universe in which Queen Victoria (Tony Waghorne) is a vicious tyrant. Someone — just who it is is unclear — gives birth to Pervirella, who is apparently an heir to the throne. Her life in jeopardy, the infant girl is taken to the Museum of Curiosities, where she's to be examined by Professor Pump (Ron Drand). Due to some kind of scientific screw-up, the baby ages in a flash into her early twenties. More to the point, she also becomes possessed by a sexual demon that can only be kept in check by a mystic amulet; remove it and anyone in Pervirella's (Emily Booth) immediate vicinity is in danger of being pleasured to death. Several murky plot points later, Pervirella, the Professor and a few others, including spy for the Queen Sexton Ming (also Waghonre), are off on a globe-girdling quest to find the miraculous Elixir of Life, which will cure Pervirella's condition. Along the way, they encounter a gigantic self-pleasuring cyclops, take a ride in a submarine made of mollusk shells, introduce Australian aborigines to the joys of beer and surf music and finally indulge in an orgy that's heavy on the girl-on-girl action. All in all, the film fairly harmless, if sophmoric, fun; you probably need to be British to find it as amusing as its creators obviously do. On the other hand, any genre movie whose credits includes the statement "Not starring Caroline Munro" has at least a little something on the ball. --Steve Simels
