This complex drama was shot in Canada with what is apparently an all-Canadian cast and production crew. Fox, a priest, runs an all-male university. Prior to becoming a man of the cloth, Fox had an affair with Judith Mabey, whose son, Gerard Lepage, is now one of the students under Fox's

care. The church is not thrilled with the liberal rector because of his open and outspoken views on abortion, birth control, and discipline, three issues the hierarchy feels are above questioning. Lepage, a bit of a troublemaker, steals Kyra Harper away from her boy friend, David Ferry, and this

starts a ruckus on campus. Fox eventually has to take off his priestly garb and settle matters. The movie was made for about $300,000 and sometimes shows it. But the film has some good acting, and the screenplay written by director Schoenberg and coauthor Summers is intelligent. Summers later

became a novelist specializing in plots concerning computers. To sell his books he conceived of a most interesting ploy; he typed out the first chapter of his novel and sent it out, via modems, to as many computer "bulletin boards" as he could. The computer hackers would read the chapter and,

Summers hoped, would rush out to buy the book so they could find out what happened. As for Schoenberg, he showed potential in this, his first film.
