Someone is sabotaging the new transcontinental telegraph, and it's up to Holt and sidekick Martin to discover who's behind the plot. A trail of vandalism and a murder lead to Nader, an Army outpost supplier who's afraid his business will dry up once the telegraph comes in. Nader is also

romantically interested in Blanchard, a singer in a saloon run by Beaumont. Beaumont has designs on her as well and tries to frame Nader for murder. The busy plot keeps Holt and Martin active before they solve all the problems with the inevitable gunfight climax. The two separate plot lines could

have been integrated better, but otherwise it's an average outing for Holt. TV fans might shudder to think that this is the mysterious job Beaumont always returned home from on "Leave It to Beaver."
