A quickie project, rushed into production for release on the eve of Adolf Eichmann's trial in Israel for war crimes. Klemperer plays the Nazi madman, and the first part of the film depicts Eichmann's personal role in the holocaust which resulted in the slaughter of six million Jews. The

second half is set after WW II and focuses on the hunt for Eichmann by Israeli agents Buka and Gravers. The trail takes them from the Middle East to Spain and finally to South America, where they nab Klemperer, who is still spouting Nazi philosophy. The film ends with Klemperer being flown to

Israel for his trial. Klemperer is properly repellent as Eichmann, and the film gains some interest with the search for the murderer, but overall it's a pretty slipshod affair. The haste is evident throughout, particularly in the sometimes disjointed narrative. The film was released in March, and

within a matter of a few months, Eichmann would be convicted for his atrocities and hanged on May 21, 1961.
