Ben Travers was the author of a number of successful plays known as the "Aldwych farces," and Lynn, Walls, and Hare became known as the "Aldwych farceurs" by starring in several screen adaptations of the plays. This was the first to be made as a sound film with Walls starring and making

his directorial debut. It's an amusing comedy in which Shotter plays a girl who has left home to escape her stepfather. She becomes friendly with a married man and an assortment of complications arises as he tries to hide her from pursuing family members, as well as his own wife and mother-in-law.

The pace is brisk, the dialog well-written, and the proper number of pratfalls, mistaken identities, and chases are all in place.
