When a woman is found poisoned, her husband, Farrar, is considered a murder suspect, along with his mistress, Fitzgerald. Detective Culver enters the case and proves that the housekeeper (Cadell), who discovered her employer's corpse, had actually given the late woman arsenic so she could

successfully kill herself. Though the performances are competent, this mystery isn't developed with any sense of style. The killer's real identity will be obvious to anyone watching. This telegraphed ending is coupled with cliches and stereotyped situations that don't add anything to the film.
