Starrett is a Canadian Mountie on the trail of some fur thieves, and to crack the gang, his superiors pretend they have drummed him out of the Mounties and forced him to run the gauntlet of fellow Mountie whips. When the gang invites him to their secret hideout to persuade him to join them,

Starrett rescues the girl and tips off his fellow Mounties as to the location of the hideout. Songs are provided by the Sons of the Pioneers. The film's working title was NORTHWEST MOUNTED, and all the advertising material was prepared accordingly. It is believed that Cecil B. DeMille had a hand

in getting the title changed, perhaps to cover up the fact that the story is no more than a reworking of the Buck Jones drummed-from-the-service story used in BORDER LAW; THE FIGHTING RANGER; BORDER BRIGANDS; and LAW OF THE TEXAN.
