into becoming engaged after they share a kiss. Confused, he leaves for the country to help fight a typhoid epidemic. While the epidemic is thwarted, he succumbs to the disease himself. Everyone in his profession thinks he is incurable, but Burne nurses him back and only their true love for each

other saves him. The film features several members of the famed acting ensemble, the Irish Abbey Players, and is often cited as the first all-Irish talkie.
