Kastner plays a rebellious high schooler. He refuses to listen to his mother and gets in trouble with the law after he drives away in a demonstrator model from his father's car dealership. The only person he can talk to is his girlfriend, Biggs. Though more mature, she admires his reckless

ways and tries to emulate him. Kastner finally leaves his parents and moves into a rooming house. His parents insist he return home and go to college. Their provisions also forbid him to ever see Biggs again. After she runs away as well, the two of them steal a car. When she realizes that nothing

good will ever come of this, she asks to go back. She reveals that she is pregnant, gets out of the car, and Kastner rides off alone. NOBODY WAVED GOODBYE is a mixed bag. The story and script are routine, often dipping to a soap opera level. The direction is simplistic and predictable, with

pretentious camerawork. The acting, however, is competent. The two leads are good despite their inexperience, and Rae and King as Kastner's parents are excellent counterpoints to the teenagers, giving the film some intelligence.
