Gavin plays an American secret agent sent to the Middle East to foil an assassination attempt. He breaks up the ring of killers, saves a UN mediator, and somehow manages to fit some smooching with Lee into his schedule. Jurgens is the appropriately hammy head of the assassins' ring. A

fairly dull spy film from a series that tried to make Gavin another James Bond but lacked the dry wit and silly gadgets of the Bond films, instead going for the routine situations. The script here is colorless, and the fight scenes lack believability. Gavin later made a career for himself as the

American ambassador to Mexico, being sent there by another former-actor-turned-politician, President Ronald Reagan.
