Adolphson is a circus attendant who discovers he's the illegitimate son of Sandborg, a rich aristocrat. He leaves his girl friend Taube and begins his new high society life. Sandborg matches him up with Bergman, but neither likes the idea at first. Slowly, Adolphson begins to fall in love with her, and one night he makes a drunken pass at her.
