Even the rabid fans of the television soap opera "Dark Shadows" will have to admit there's not much to like here. The second "Dark Shadows" motion picture (the first was HOUSE OF DARK SHADOWS) collapses from the absence of Jonathan Frid and Joan Bennett. The story sees Selby, the last of
the Collins clan, inherit the family mansion and move in with his new bride. In his sleep he is plagued by nightmares in which he is propelled 150 years into the past and witnesses the sordid activities of his ghoulish ancestors. Eventually the spirits of the house possess him, and he turns into a
crazed monster and tries to kill his own wife. This really dull, low-budget production was shot entirely at millionaire Jay Gould's mansion in Tarrytown, New York.
