A sensitively told tale starring King as a young American soldier who was blinded in battle and placed in an Israeli hospital to recover. There he meets Berstein-Cohen, an elderly woman, also blind, who believes the young soldier is the lover she lost years ago. The woman's delusions bring

back the youth she had nearly forgotten, and the memories give her a renewed purpose in life. Berstein-Cohen's new conviction enables King to deal with his blindness as well, and he even regains enough confidence to begin a romance with his nurse, Friedland. Though a bit melodramatic at times, the

film is held together by Berstein-Cohen's powerful performance. Robinson is fine in a brief cameo as King's father. (In English.)
