Some valuable jewels are stolen from a wealthy widow. In order to cover the crime, she is murdered with an innocent phoney medium friend getting framed for the dastardly deeds. It's up to Trevor to solve the crime. Though a little slow to start, once it gets going this is a fairly

interesting little mystery. It has pure British flavor, though set in France, with literate dialog and drawing room-style investigation. The direction and sound recording were not quite as good as they could have been. A French version of the film was shot simultaneously, directed by Louis

Mercanton and Rene Herville. The cast included Simone Vaudry, Baron, Jr. (son of the famed French mime, Baron, Sr.), Leon Mathot, and George Peclet. A silent version of this story was made in 1920, with another remake filmed in 1939.
