Henie is a clerk in a department store who catches the eye of Romero, son of the store's owner, as she is out skating one day. Her skating prowess prompts store officials to send her off to college where she'll be the center of attention and model clothes from the store's sports line. Her

stunning wardrobe causes jealousy among her fellow students, and she falls in love with a teacher (Greene), but she succeeds in convincing school officials to stage their winter ice show at her bosses' store. The plot was contrived only to provide opportunities for Henie to skate, and she does

beautifully, especially in a performance of "Alice in Wonderland Ice Ballet," staged by Harry Losee. This was the last film in which Gypsy Rose Lee would be billed under her real name of Louise Hovick. In her next screen appearance, STAGE DOOR CANTEEN (1943), she would use her more famous moniker.

Songs include "I've Got a Date with a Dream," "Could You Pass in Love," "This May Be the Night," "The All American Swing," and "Plymouth University Song" (Mack Gordon, Harry Revel).
