dead--stabbed a dozen times--Poirot is prevailed upon by railway executive Bianchi (Balsam) to solve the case. Through an elaborate re-creation of the crime, he does just that. For years Christie refused to have this story filmed, but MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS was worth the wait. Even Ingrid

knew she didn't deserve her supporting Oscar, but she is fine, and sentimental Academy members slept well that night. Very enjoyable, but frankly, too many stars for its own good.
