Long before he began making the rounds as Ben Casey, Vince Edwards checked in as a body builder-cum-professional wrestler in this low-budget comedy. Failing to realize that pro wrestling is as much theater as it is sport, honest, hard-working Tommy (Edwards) thinks his meteoric rise is due

to his own ability. Meanwhile, his handlers (Jack Carson and Bert Lahr) incur the wrath of gangsters who think Tommy has been a little too successful. By the final bell, however, Tommy's very real wrestling skills reverse what otherwise promises to be a bleak outcome. Outside the ring MR. UNIVERSE
