Famed pianist Paderewski is the focal point of this tale of love and lies set in Sweden. Cutting from a scene of Paderewski playing, the story shifts to a large country estate where Farrell professes his love for Greene, granddaughter of Tempest, who owns the place. As Greene battles with

her uncertainty, a plane carrying a handful of passengers, including Paderewski, is forced to land on the estate. Tempest is just overjoyed at having the famed pianist at her place. Portman starts flirting with Greene, who has led a very sheltered life at the estate. Portman is a boasting jerk,

but Greene is still taken in by his charm. She wants to run off with him, but Farrell begs her not to and comes up with a scheme to prevent her from going. He runs to the grandmother and discloses that Portman is a fortune-hunting hypnotist and is already married. Tempest buys Portman off and

sends him on his way. But Greene spies the receipt and finds out what kind of man Portman really is, leaving the door open for Farrell to console her while Paderewski plays on the piano. Musical selections performed by Paderewski include: Frederic Chopin's "Polonaise," Franz Liszt's "Hungarian

Rhapsody No. 2," Paderewski's "Minuet in G Major," and naturally, the title number by Ludwig van Beethoven.
