Monsieur Verdoux: Review

It seems Chaplin couldn't quite decide which way to go with his take on the notorious Landru, better known as Bluebeard. So he has it both ways: It's both a mordantly funny bit of black comedy and a straight crime drama. To support his family, M. Verdoux (Chaplin) romances, then murders, rich women.
