A weakly directed version of James M. Cain's story about a bank teller whose illegal financial dealings begin affecting his health. He ends up in a hospital, and his sneaky wife tries to patch things up by romancing the bank's vice president. When the teller finishes his hospital stay, however, he holds up the bank and is caught in the ensuing chase.
