A German businessman commits suicide by jumping out of a plane. Or does he? Baxter is the unattractive jumper whom Owen has married only for his money. Baxter disappears in the Alps and undergoes plastic surgery, but not only does his face undergo a radical change, so too does his
personality. He shows up in Paris, still wealthy because he left himself plenty of money under a different name. He even courts his widow, buying a kiss from her at a charity event and letting someone else do the honors. The story is decent, but the changes in Baxter's character are too
unbelievable.
