Making Love
[1982, Movie, R, 113 mins]
Making Love: Review
A typical timorous Hollywood treatment of homosexuality, MAKING LOVE falls tastefully flat. Everyone here is young, gorgeous, and extremely affluent. Zack (Michael Ontkean) is a wealthy doctor whose marriage to a successful TV executive (Kate Jackson) is threatened when he has a fling with a novelist (Harry Hamlin) and realizes he's gay. The film's wooden, near-documentary style and talky screenplay fail to generate much in the way of dramatic tension. Slick and shallow, MAKING LOVE could pass as a second-rate television movie, and indeed, many of the actors are small-screen regulars.
