FEVER) and farcical black-white buddy movie.

High school senior Zora Mathews (Nia Long) discovers during a biology experiment that her blood type is AB--an impossibility, given her parents' blood types. She confronts her mother, Sarah (Whoopi Goldberg), accusing her of having had an affair before her father's death, only to learn that

Sarah had used a sperm bank. Zora becomes obsessed with the idea of finding her real father; she infiltrates the sperm bank and raids their computer files, finding the name and address of the donor, a man named Hal Jackson. Skipping school the next day, Zora tracks down Jackson (Ted Danson), and

discovers to her horror that he is a cheesy local car salesman; and that he is white. Uniformly predictable complications ensue.
