This late entry in the "Bowery Boys" series has Hall explaining (in flashback) how he and the boys were spies during WW II. Hall and Clements are sent on a mission to locate "The Hawk," an important member of the North African underground. Disguising themselves as Germans, the boys make

their way into the compound of sultan Granger, an Axis supporter who spots them as Americans right off. Granger gives the boys a message, which they then give to one of the dancing girls, Kardell, who reveals herself as "The Hawk." Together the three try to notify their commanders, but they are

imprisoned by the sultan, and it takes the rest of the gang, disguised as Germans, to break them out and capture Granger. Some moments of old Bowery Boys' chemistry break through, but the material is pretty mundane.
