An interesting Abbott and Costello entry which doesn't team them as the usual comedy duo. Chubby Lou ventures to the city to make enough money to marry his country girl. He is hired by Abbott to work as a vacuum cleaner salesman but becomes the laughingstock of the firm, publicly humiliated

by the company president (also played by Abbott). He is the butt of his coworkers' nasty joke which convinces him that he can read minds. This revelation gives him a new lease on life, and the following day he sells a record number of vacuums. He is invited to meet president Abbott and given a

hero's welcome. After he exposes an embezzlement scheme, a mix-up occurs, and he is sent back to the country humiliated and penniless. Everything comes to a happy end as he gets a hefty bonus check from the company, a new position, and his country sweetheart. Clearly a vehicle for Costello, who

proves that he can carry a film all by himself.
