there is a nice feel for the scariness that sex has for adolescents, but the screenplay gets bogged down in silly subplots and stereotypes. Armand Assante, a better actor than this film deserves, gives a nice performance and has a good chemistry with O'Neal. For the brief moments when it's good,

the film is really quite tender.
