Ranch foreman Starrett and the boss's son, kid sidekick Hayden, get caught in the middle of a battle in the saloon run by beautiful but brassy Walters, little realizing that the fight was engineered by Bennett, her ex-husband. The fight is no more than a diversion which permits bad man

Bennett to loot the safe. Ruined by the plot, Walters accepts an offer of transit from the territory in a passing wagon train. The wounded Hayden, needing medical attention, also is a passenger, safeguarded by the steel-jawed Starrett. Bennett, his devilishness yet undisclosed, joins the

procession with a wagonload of weapons for the rampaging redskins. Bennett kills the wagonmaster and a friendly Indian, but is himself killed by Starrett in a shootout. Starrett then tries to make peace with the dead Indian's father, a chief, but is taken captive. Rescued through the efforts of

the newly healthy Hayden, Starrett returns to the wagon train, defending it from a score or more of attacks. At the showdown, the Seventh Cavalry arrives to save the day. Director Berke, who had produced many of the films starring the adult-youngster duo, began his one take technique with this

film, cheapening the series substantially.
