A cross between THE WARRIORS and a rock video, KNIGHTS OF THE CITY is vapid entertainment that quickly wears out a series of stock situations and stereotyped characters. Leon Issac Kennedy (who also wrote and coproduced) is the leader of a Miami street gang, looking to escape the violent

world he lives in. After an unlikely meeting with Janine Turner, the beautiful daughter of record producer Michael Ansara, Kennedy and his boys work hard developing a rock band, determined to use their music as a pathway to fortune. Turner decides to hold a contest among local groups to choose a

new band for her father's company and begins a romance with Kennedy as well. The acting here is negligible, giving way to rock video aesthetics, including fancy lighting effects, mildly interesting fight sequences, and plenty of pop music. Definitely not for children or thinking adults, the film

is clearly designed to make a quick buck from the lucrative teenage market.
