Slight but still timely, this offbeat romantic comedy lampoons fad dieting, cosmetic surgery mania and celebrity beauty experts. Suave parisian Dr. Maurice Lamar (Cary Grant) runs an expensive clinic for looks-conscious women, using his daily radio show to spread his name and sell his private line of beauty creams. He falls for the charms of his best patient, Eve Caron (Genevieve Tobin), whom he's nipped, tucked and polished within an inch of her life, only to discover that beauty truly is only skin deep. Under her lovely facade, Eve is self-centered, shallow and none too bright. Unfortunately, he doesn't notice until after she's divorced her down-to-Earth husband, Marcel (Edward Everett Horton) for him and they're on their honeymoon. Meanwhile, Lamar's loyal, efficient secretary, Anne (Helen Mack), whose carried a torch for him for years, meets Marcel, who's utterly charmed by the natural beauty Dr. Lamar has always overlooked.

One of Grant's lesser-known credits, this breezy little comedy gets in some sharp digs at topics that remain remarkably timely.
