Rating:

A vulgar and uproariously funny college party movie made up of a series of comedy sketches from the Kentucky Fried Theater, a fresh young satirical group formed at the University of Wisconsin at Madison in the early 1970s.

Depending on one's mood, or level of sobriety, it can be a hysterical picture that pokes good natured fun at American movies, TV and commercials. The gags are hurled forth in a fast and furious manner; if you don't like one--fear not--another will be along any second. Memorable segments include

"Catholic High School Girls in Trouble," "Cleopatra Schwartz" and "That's Armageddon!" but the most outstanding episode is "A Fistful of Yen," a lengthy kung-fu parody that casts two actual martial arts experts in a surprisingly lavish environment.

Landis has rarely done better work than in this modest early effort. Writers Zucker, Zucker, and Abrahams went on to make the gleefully absurd AIRPLANE and THE NAKED GUN films.
