"Romantic" isn't quite the right word; dull is more like it. Culver is a batty old Hoosier who lives with his three daughters. He's still fighting the Civil War, though it ended a few years earlier. Culver decides he is broke and gets into an unconvincing oil scheme. Lake can't do much
with the half-baked script, though Pearl Bailey, as a housemaid, shows her talent. Tunes include: "I Shouda Quit While I Was Ahead," "Wondering When," "Indiana Dinner" (Jay Livingston, Ray Evans), "Isn't It Romantic" (Richard Rogers, Lorenz Hart).
