An interesting Soviet picture which makes little attempt to bring the usual political messages into the forefront. The story concerns a spy and his girl friend who are boating and stop on a nearby island. The island has been booby-trapped with a bomb by the spy's cohorts, a fact the spy

unfortunately forgot. He tries to get away but finds his boat is out of gas. A sailor, abandoned on the island, attempts to flee with the pair but the spy, who is trying frantically to make some oars, flatly refuses and is promptly hit on the head with a brick. The sailor takes the girl and makes

his getaway, but she swims back to her lover. In the nick of time the pair locate and dismantle the explosives. The attempt at dialog hardly seems necessary, for this film seems to stand on its keen visuals.
