Veterinarian Phillips finally passes his exams after 12 years and sets up shop in a poor neighborhood, working with animals out of genuine love. Booth, his rival, has cheated on the exams and started a practice in a rich area so he can rake in money. Phillips gets involved with Cummins, an

entertainer, after chasing her trained chimpanzee through a ladies' Turkish bath. Unwittingly, he also becomes involved with Booth in a scheme to export horses to be butchered in France. After discovering the nature of the business, he exposes the wrongdoings with the help of Cummins and Jacques,

an inspector with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. It's a cute though inconsequential comedy. Phillips is fine in his role of the gentle vet, but Booth indulges in too much overacting.
