is static and the plot developed mostly through dialogue, which takes a far lighter tone than CABARET. The comedy deals with the episodic adventures of Harvey, a poor, struggling writer, and the effervescent Harris, a nightclub chanteuse--roommates caught up in the swirl of pre-WWII Berlin.

Winters is a German girl who begins to experience the anti-Semitism of the Nazi regime.
