A Grand Guignol Southern Gothic cauldron, and the next dish of poison proffered by director Robert Aldrich and Bette Davis after the success of What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? This time around, Davis is the victim, an aging Southern belle haunted by an Electra complex and memories of the beau (Bruce Dern, in flashback) people say she chopped up with an ax.
