on a par with Jeanette McDonald in SAN FRANCISCO. It's the rare musical that can appropriate overly prim actresses. Thank god for Dottie Lamour, and the energy the rest of the cast infuse the hokum with. The forgotten gem from the Hammerstein/Kern score is "The Folks Who Live on the Hill."
