Vaughn is captured by a posse under the lead of MacMurray, who wants to send "the Kid" to the gallows. Surprisingly the townsfolk sympathize with the good-looking, charismatic youngster and do what they can to prevent his execution, accusing MacMurray of being cold-blooded.
