A cardboard retelling of the Clark Gable-Carol Lombard romance and marriage. They meet at a Hollywood party, hate each other, and then fall in love. He's married, and Garfield is worried about a newspaper scandal, but they marry and have a short but happy time together. Clayburgh as
Lombard is adequate, but Brolin has none of the charisma that made Gable a premier screen idol. The major problem is the superficial script.
